Anne Patterson lives in Ottawa, Canada. She works as a community facilitator at an international development organization, although she has previously worked as a social researcher, archaeologist, osteologist, journalist, and map-maker, and has slung her fair share of espressos as a barista. As a community activist and a graduate from a program in Anthropology and Geography at the University of Waterloo, she is passionate about presenting anthropological research to the public in a very accessible way. Her interests are photography, visual anthropology, public space, and place-based identities.
As an editor at Popular Anthropology Magazine, Anne is involved in the ethnophotography and visual anthropology sections.
